It provides musical support across the state, performing for military ceremonies, balls, parades, and public concerts. The 122nd Army Band is the band of the Ohio National Guard, serving the Soldiers and Airmen of the ONG and the people of Ohio through music.

250 years ago, a remarkable document was signed. It declared self evident truths: that all men are created equal; that they are endowed with unalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness; that government derives its power from the consent of the governed; and that it is the right — the duty — of the people to throw off despotism to guard for their own future.

That Declaration of Independence birthed the United States of America into being, and for 250 years our grand experiment in self governance has persevered. It's not been without its ups and downs, but year by year we strive for that more perfect union.

Today we celebrate our Independence Day, our freedom, our liberty, and our ever-evolving country. We mark 250 years of American history with an eye to the next 250 and the declarations of our founding fathers in our hearts.

We were looking forward to seeing you there, but mother nature had other plans out of our control! You can still catch the 122nd Army Band's next America 250 performances:

July 3rd at Cincinnati's Memorial Hall (in the air conditioning!)
July 5th at the Toledo Zoo Amphitheatre
July 6 at Bucyrus's Schine's Art Park

We'll also be at the Columbus Clippers game at Huntington Park on the 4th!
