Corning Head Start & Early Head Start Information about Corning Head Start, located in Corning, Ohio. If your child qualifies he/she will be offered the opportunity to attend preschool for free.

Head Start is a federal program for preschool children between the ages of 3 to 5 for low-income families. Early Head Start is a federal home based program for low-income, pregnant mothers and children Birth to 3.

Today we had a very special visitor drop by our center. Head Start Alumnus Lincoln Sawyers got the children a book and wanted to stop by to read it to them. The book was titled Why Frogs Are Wet.
When asked about his desire to return to Head Start Lincoln said, " The 4th grade teacher was giving away books so I thought this would be good to give to the Head Start kids so they could learn a little about frogs!"
Lincoln also added, " I'm in the Tag Program at school and I'm in there because I got an early education by attending Corning Head Start!" Lincoln ended by saying, " Head Start gave me a great education and it can help you too!

We have 1 opening left for Homebased, 3-5 years old, for the 2026-27 school year. This consists of an 1.5 hour weekly visit from your child's Teacher to work with the child and family within the home environment. If interested please fill out an application online www.hapcap.org or give us a call to see if you qualify, 740-347-4685. At this time the Center Based Classroom is full. However, we will continue accepting applications as things may change with time.
