The drug industry is constantly changing so it is important for us to be informed on everything coming into our communities! At this year's Mid-Year CADCA Conference, we learned of a new form of va**ng devices emerging in the market that are being laced with a fast-acting intravenous drug called Etomidate. This drug is used for quickly inducing unconsciousness and sedation!

One important session our Coalition Coordinator sat in at this year's Mid-Year CADCA Conference was on emerging drug trends!

Did you know that the illicit fentanyl in our communities can be up to 100x more potent than licit fentanyl? According to the DEA, only 2 mg of fentanyl equates to a potentially deadly dose. It is important to never take any pill that was not prescribed to you by YOUR physician!

At this year's Mid-Year CADCA Conference, our Coalition Coordinator had the honor to participate in the DEA's Fentanyl Free America Walk where we had important conversations on how to prevent fentanyl poisonings in our communities!

Did you know that fentanyl was first developed in 1959 and introduced in the 1960s as an intravenous anesthetic? It is legally manufactured and distributed in the United States. Licit fentanyl pharmaceutical products are diverted via theft, fraudulent prescriptions, and illicit distribution by patients, physicians, nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and pharmacists.

One of our prevention specialists, Ms. Adri got to see her favorite animal at the zoo. Dinosaurs!

Walking around the zoo was a great experience for our specialists and could be a good one for you as well. Long walks not only support our physical health, but our mental health too.

It is a good opportunity to feel good and bring a little joy to your day. What's your favorite activity to do on your free time?
