Meet Guillermo González!!

For the past year, Guillermo has been helping share the stories that make Vecinos so special.

“What I love most about my work is connecting with our patients and farmworkers and helping tell their stories. Communication is also health. Through storytelling, we can document invisible realities and give people a voice and a face.”

When he’s not behind the camera or creating content, Guillermo enjoys documentaries and stories with depth and meaning. One of his biggest creative inspirations is filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, whose work combines emotion, humanity, and powerful visuals!

We’re grateful for the passion, creativity, and heart Guillermo brings to the Vecinos team every day. 💙

From dreaming of working with Vecinos as a student at Western Carolina University to serving the community she calls home in Franklin, Yailyn has been a compassionate and dedicated part of the Vecinos family.

Real learning happens when we step outside the classroom and into our communities. 💚

Over the past few months, students in Duke University’s CBEM Program partnered with organizations across North Carolina, including Vecinos, to learn directly from the people and communities they served. Through listening, storytelling, and building trust, students discovered that community work is not about having all the answers - it’s about walking alongside others with humility and compassion.

“Once you see this reality - you cannot unsee it.” ✨

Thank you to every student, educator, and community partner who made this experience meaningful and impactful. The future is brighter when learning goes beyond the classroom. 🌎🤝
