🗳️ DID YOU KNOW? A felony conviction does NOT necessarily mean you've lost your right to vote forever!
With Election Day approaching on Tuesday, November 3, we want to make sure individuals with arrest and conviction records know their voting rights!
📍 ILLINOIS
✅ Your right to vote is automatically restored once you are released from incarceration.
✅ You CAN vote while on probation, parole, or mandatory supervised release.
✅ You do NOT need a pardon or special approval to register.
📍 IOWA
✅ Voting rights are generally restored after completing your felony sentence, including probation or parole.
✅ Most individuals do NOT need to apply for restoration of their voting rights.
✅ Unpaid fines, fees, or restitution do not prevent restoration under Executive Order 7.
⚠️ Certain convictions, including felony offenses under Iowa's homicide statutes, require an individual application for restoration.
Remember: Having your voting rights restored does NOT automatically register you to vote!
