This week we visited all the elementary schools in the Davison district to talk fire safety with 370 second graders! We went over escape plans, the importance of smoke alarms and what firefighters do. We look forward to these visits every year and it’s always a great time. Thank you to the teachers and staff for welcoming us into your schools!

Check sheet night! The first Wednesday of every month we dedicate our training night to going through all of our trucks and equipment. We run our tools and check everything over to make sure it’s ready for the next call. Taking care of our equipment is a big part of taking care of our community!

Day shift took the new Engine 14 out to Lake Callis for some pump training. The crew spent time drafting water from the lake and getting more familiar with the new engine. Always putting in the work to stay ready for our community!

Today, Chief Flewelling and Lieutenant Cole attended the Genesee County Firefighters Memorial Service to honor our fallen firefighters. Behind every name is a family, a department, and a community they proudly served. We honor their sacrifice, remember their service, and carry their legacy forward.

We shared the video of our brand new Engine 14, and now here are some photos so you can really get a good look at this beautiful truck! Engine 21 is identical and will be going into service very soon. These two new engines will proudly serve the City of Davison, Davison Township, and Richfield Township for many years to come. The engines they are replacing have served our communities for over 25 years, so this is an exciting and much-needed upgrade for our department. We can’t thank our communities enough for the continued support that made this possible. We promise these engines will be put to good use protecting the people we are proud to serve!

Brand-new Engine 14 is officially in service! Our new Sutphen Engine 14 will be housed at Station 1 and is ready to serve the City of Davison, Davison Township, and Richfield Township. We also have an identical Engine 21 that will be going into service very soon at Station 2. More pictures to come! A huge thank you to our community for your continued support and for allowing us to have the equipment we need to better serve and protect you!

A little late, but we had a great time attending National Night Out on August 4th! Davison-Richfield Fire Department performed a vehicle extrication demonstration for everyone in attendance, giving the community a firsthand look at some of the work our firefighters do during an emergency.

Happy New Year from all of us! We ended 2025 with 455 calls for service. And 2026 has started off just as busy with 3 calls to start the New Year.

One of those was a structure fire in Davison Twp this morning. We would like to extend a huge thanks to numerous organizations for their assistance today:

Burton Fire Dept. Station 2
Forest Township Fire Dept
Davison City Police Department
Davison Township Police Department
Medstar
Genesee County 911
Davison-Richfield Fire Auxiliary

The Auxiliary got hot coffee to the scene and coordinated getting us food for when we got back.

We also want to extend a huge Thank You to Cottage Inn Pizza & Pub for donating pizzas to us! We appreciate the support of our local bussiness and it does not go unnoticed or taken for granted.
