Who knew wellness came with four legs and fluffy fur? 🦙🐐

For this year's Wellness Day, the PAVE team traded our desks for alpacas, goats, and a little fresh air. Taking time to recharge, connect as a team, and enjoy some new few furry friends was the perfect reminder that wellness can be found in the simplest and silliest of moments.

At Project PAVE, we believe healthy relationships start with caring for ourselves and one another. Wellness isn't just something we teach, it's something we strive to practice, too. 💜

Staff Highlight: Meet Reina!

Meet our incredible Senior Manager of Programs and Engagement, Reina!

Among the many roles Reina plays at Project PAVE, one of the biggest highlights is leading our YCEP Summer Internship Program. She guides our summer interns through growth, challenges, and new learning experiences, helping them develop both professionally and personally throughout the program.

Outside of work, Reina enjoys solving puzzles, watching cult documentaries, swimming, and spending time with her kids. Her favorite restaurant is The Cheesecake Factory, where she orders her favorite dessert: Linda's Fudge Cake. Her favorite artist is Lauryn Hill, and her favorite TV show is Avatar: The Last Airbender.

When asked what she looks forward to most in her work at PAVE, Reina shared:

"I look forward to the moment when you can see the dots connect and the content sink in for students."

We are so grateful for the passion, leadership, and encouragement Reina brings to Project PAVE every day. Her dedication to helping young people discover their strengths and reach their potential makes a lasting impact on everyone she works with. Thank you, Reina, for inspiring the next generation of leaders and helping make YCEP such a meaningful experience!

Staff Highlight: Meet Steph!

Today, we celebrate 22 years of Steph being part of the Project PAVE team! As our Deputy Director of Programs and Clinical Supervision, Steph wears many hats. One of her many roles is working closely with our YCEPers, helping them reach their goals and connecting them with additional support and resources whenever they need it.

Outside of work, Steph enjoys reading, traveling, and staying in historic hotels. Her favorite artists are Janet Jackson and Tracy Chapman, and her favorite food is Puerto Rican cuisine.

When asked what she looks forward to most in her work at PAVE, Steph shared:

"I look forward to the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young people every day. Seeing clients grow in confidence, find their voice, and build healthy relationships is incredibly rewarding. I also enjoy collaborating with such a passionate and dedicated team."

We are so grateful for the experience, humor, compassion, and positivity Steph brings to Project PAVE every day. Thank you, Steph, for your unwavering dedication to our youth, families, and staff. We're so lucky to have you as part of the PAVE team and can't wait to celebrate many more years together!

Here at Project PAVE, we believe healthy boundaries are the foundation of healthy relationships. Boundaries aren't about pushing people away. They're about building relationships based on trust, respect, and communication. By learning to communicate our needs, respect the boundaries of others, and advocate for ourselves, we can build stronger, healthier connections with the people in our lives.

Happy International Youth Day! 💜

Today, we celebrate the creativity, resilience, and leadership of young people around the world.

Through our Youth Community Educators Program (YCEP), we empower youth to build healthy relationships, strengthen leadership skills, support one another, and gain the confidence to pursue their goals. But our commitment to young people doesn't stop there. Through violence prevention education in schools, school-based therapy, and youth and family advocacy, Project PAVE works every day to ensure youth have the support, resources, and safe spaces they need to thrive.

Today and every day, we're proud to invest in the next generation of leaders, advocates, and change makers.
