🎒 Back to School Dress Code Reminder 🎒

As we kick off another fantastic school year at Orchard Park Academy, we need your help ensuring our Pumas arrive ready to learn and shine every single day! 🐾 Please take a moment to review our dress code guidelines with your student so we can keep our school environment safe, respectful, and focused on learning.

Dress Code Guidelines

Length of Clothing: Shorts, dresses, skirts, or similar clothing must be at least mid-thigh length.

Accessories: Sunglasses and hats should not be worn inside the building.

Appropriate Coverage: Clothing must not be sheer, tight, or low-cut, and should not expose private areas such as the stomach, buttocks, back, or chest. This includes midriffs, halter tops, backless clothing, tube tops, and garments made of fishnet or mesh.

Prohibited Items: Clothing, jewelry, or accessories should not advertise drugs, to***co, alcohol, or weapons; have sexual content; indicate gang affiliation or promote violence; be obscene, vulgar, or profane; threaten the safety or welfare of others; or promote activities against the student code of conduct.

Disruptive Items: Any item that disrupts the teaching and learning process is not allowed.

Non-Compliance

Any decisions concerning the appropriateness of any article of clothing will be made by the building principal (refer to the Superintendent's Policy).

Students not meeting the dress code requirement will call home for a change of clothing or will be asked to wear another shirt, etc., provided by the school.

In some instances, a note from the teacher will be sent home with students who are not meeting the dress code requirements, which a parent must sign and return.

Cell Phone Policy
📵✨ Disconnect to Reconnect! ✨📵

This year, we’re putting away the phones so we can focus on learning, friendships, and being present. 💛

📚 Here’s how it works:
• Every morning, cell phones, smart watches, earbuds, and other electronics will be stored in lockers or cubbies.
• If a student is found with electronics during the day, it will go to the teacher and then to the office—ready for pickup at the end of the day.
• Need to reach your student? 📞 Call the front office and we’ll make sure they get the message.

Tomorrow, Monday, August 10th, from 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM, Orchard Park Academy is hosting our Back to School Night! 🍎

Join us to pick up class schedules, meet your amazing teachers, review key policies, and get all the latest school info. All families will enter through the gym doors, and don't forget—there will be delicious food trucks on-site so the whole family can grab dinner and celebrate together! 🚚

🎒 August Back-to-School Check-In: As we wind down summer and get ready to head back to school, we can’t wait to welcome all of our Pumas back to campus!

🏫 While you finalize your back-to-school shopping using our online school supply lists, please remember the new district-wide policies approved by the WPS school board this past spring.

Our campus is now completely cell phone and smart device-free from bell to bell (devices must stay in lockers/cubbies), and our updated dress code requires tops to cover the midriff/chest and bottoms to fully cover upper thighs without exposing undergarments. We are so excited for a fantastic, focused school year—proud to be a Puma! 🐾

Join us for Back to School Night on Monday, August 10th, from 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM—just make sure to enter through the gym doors!

You’ll be able to pick up your schedules, meet your wonderful teachers, pay student fees, and check out info on sports, library resources, and our "Bell-to-Bell" phone policy.

Don't forget to save the date for our Back to School Night on Monday, August 10th from 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM.
