For 30 years, Best Friends Mentoring Program has been creating connections and making a difference in the lives of local youth. We couldn’t do this work without the incredible support of our community.

A big shout out to Tj Dempsey and Stepheny Jane Reger, two incredible STRONGkids volunteer mentors who are helping spark youth to strive and grow! Whether they're introducing kids to new activities like racquetball, encouraging teamwork, or simply being a positive presence, they're helping young people build confidence and healthy habits—all while having fun. 📚🍎 The first day of school is just around the corner, and we couldn't be more excited for another year of building friendships that make a lasting difference.

For many students, knowing their mentor is coming to visit is something they look forward to all week. As one teacher shared:

"The student always looks forward to seeing his mentor. If he is upset, reminding him that his mentor is coming to see him always cheers him up."

That's the power of showing up.

As we kick off a new school year, we're grateful for the mentors who invest their time, encouragement, and friendship in local youth. Here's to another year of helping kids feel seen, supported, and confident—one mentoring visit at a time. 💙
