🇺🇸 This Memorial Day, we remember the cost of freedom.

Today is not about long weekends or backyard barbecues.
It’s about sacred ground, folded flags, and the empty seats at dinner tables that will never be filled again.

Memorial Day honors the fallen, those who ran toward danger so the rest of us could live in peace. Their final act was one of pure love: laying down their lives for strangers they would never meet.

Especially today, we lift up six incredible Airmen who gave everything on March 12, 2026, when their KC-135 Stratotanker went down during Operation Epic Fury in western Iraq:

• Maj John “Alex” Klinner
• Capt Ariana G. Savino
• TSgt Ashley B. Pruitt
• Capt Seth R. Koval
• Capt Curtis J. Angst
• TSgt Tyler H. Simmons

Six young lives. Six families forever changed. Six heroes who answered the call without hesitation.

From the sacred soil of Dover, the final stop for so many of America’s fallen, the Chapel Team stands in awe of their sacrifice. We grieve with their loved ones. We pray for every Gold Star Family carrying the weight of freedom on their shoulders.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” (John 15:13)

If their story moves you, share this post. Tag a fellow American. Say their names out loud. Teach your children what real heroism looks like.

Because the best way we can honor them is to live lives worthy of their sacrifice.

Never forgotten. Eternally honored. Forever in our prayers.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us on the Chapel Team!

Today we proudly celebrate moms in uniform who serve our nation while raising families, moms of military members who carry the pride and worry of having a child in uniform, and military spouses holding down the home front, especially those at Dover right now, bravely caring for your families through long deployments and difficult seasons.

Your double and often triple sacrifice, quiet strength, and steadfast resilience are extraordinary. You reflect deep love and grace under pressure while serving both your families and country.

Thank you for the late-night prayers and worries, the examples of resilience, and the steady presence you give your loved ones even in the hardest moments. You are seen, valued, and deeply honored.

May you be surrounded with peace, renewed strength, and joy today. We are grateful for you and hold you in our thoughts and prayers.

With heavy hearts, the Dover Chapel team mourns the loss of six courageous Air Mobility Airmen who perished in the KC-135 crash in western Iraq on March 12.

These brave souls served selflessly enabling missions far from home. They paid the ultimate sacrifice, and their service will never be forgotten.

In light of this profound loss, Catholic Masses will be offered specifically for the repose of their souls and for strength and comfort for their families. A special prayer will also be offered during the Protestant service this Sunday, March 15, lifting up these heroes, their loved ones, and all who serve and grieve alongside them.

We hold their families, friends, and fellow Airmen in our prayers. May God grant them eternal peace and surround their loved ones with comfort and strength.

‘Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.’ – John 15:13

Rest in peace, heroes. We honor you.

Join us this Sunday as we gather in faith, prayer, and remembrance.
