🚒 HAPPY NATIONAL FIRST RESPONDERS DAY! 🇺🇸
Today, as we honor the men and women who answer the call when others need help, Stewart County Fire Rescue is proud to share some BIG news for our firefighters and our community!
We are incredibly excited to announce that Stewart County Fire Rescue has been awarded TWO grants through the FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program, totaling more than $1 MILLION! 🎉
These grants will make a tremendous difference in the safety and capabilities of our department:
🔥 SCBA Grant
Our first grant will allow us to outfit all of our apparatus with new, much-needed Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA). This is a major investment in the safety of our firefighters as they respond to structure fires and other hazardous environments. We will be able to purchase 40 new SCBAs.
🚒 Tanker Replacement Grant
Our second grant will go toward the replacement of a 40-year-old tanker truck, giving our department a much-needed upgrade in our ability to transport and supply water during emergency operations. The new truck will be a custom built 3,000 gallon tanker.
These awards represent more than new equipment and a new truck. They represent safer firefighters, better resources, and a stronger Stewart County.
We would also like to give a special thank you to Clint Mathis for his invaluable input, revisions, and contributions throughout the grant-writing process. His time and expertise played an important role in helping us put these applications together.
We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to make these investments in our department and, most importantly, in the people we serve.
Over $1 MILLION in federal grant funding. Two major needs addressed. One stronger Stewart County Fire Rescue. ❤️🔥
To every first responder who answers the call — today we honor you. Thank you for your service, sacrifice, and dedication to our communities.
🚒🇺🇸 Happy National First Responders Day from Stewart County Fire Rescue!
