Today marks an important change for drivers across Pennsylvania as Paul Miller’s Law enters full enforcement.

Beginning today, drivers can be cited for holding or using a handheld phone while operating a vehicle—even while stopped at a red light or sitting in traffic.

The law was created in memory of Paul Miller Jr., who was tragically killed by a distracted driver in 2010, and aims to make Pennsylvania roads safer for everyone.

A quick text, social media check, or glance at your phone can wait. No message is worth risking a life.

Use hands-free technology, stay focused on the road, and help prevent distracted driving crashes.

Today, we mourn the tragic loss of Officer Kristen Yeager, who was killed in the line of duty in a car accident while responding to a call.

Officer Yeager made the ultimate sacrifice while serving and protecting her community. Her dedication, courage, and commitment to helping others will not be forgotten.

As we reflect on this heartbreaking loss, we keep her family, friends, fellow officers, and all who knew and loved her in our thoughts. May they find strength and comfort during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest in peace, Officer Kristen Yeager. Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your unwavering commitment to others. Your watch has ended, but your legacy will endure. 💙🖤

Please join us in wishing K9 Athena a very happy 4th birthday today! 🎉🎂
Athena celebrated the only way a working K9 knows how:

✔️ 3 tennis balls destroyed
✔️ 2 suspicious squirrels investigated
✔️ 1 tactical nap completed
✔️ Countless treats acquired through “good girl” negotiations

Deputies report Athena remains tough on crime, soft on belly rubs, and highly motivated by snacks. Citizens are advised that all birthday boops are welcome and that any unattended cake may be considered evidence. 🎂🐶🐾

The ceremony honored the 16 Bucks County law enforcement officers who have given their lives in the service of our community, including two Sheriff's Deputies, and a Sheriff.

Deputies aspiring to be promoted to Corporal have spent the past several weeks participating in an intensive selection process. Today, each of those Deputies were interviewed by a star studded panel of law enforcement professionals.

Our office would like to thank Chief Deputy Adam Barry of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Chief Deputy Jason Suydam of the Chester County Sheriff’s Office, and world renowned law enforcement expert Mark Lomax for spending a very long day grilling our deputies on leadership scenarios to determine the finalists for promotion.

This weekend, dozens of aspiring deputies came out in the rain and cold to take the physical fitness exam to apply for a position with our office.

We loved the energy and commitment to public service that we saw from so many of these candidates. The applicants who passed will now proceed to an interview with a hiring committee of experienced deputies.

🐣🚓 Easter Update from the Bucks County Sheriff’s Office 🚓🐣

K9 Zeke was assigned to track down stolen Easter candy…

…and immediately located it… in his own possession 🍫🐶

He claims it’s “evidence.” We’re not convinced.

Case status: Under investigation (by Zeke… who is also the suspect).

Happy Easter, Bucks County! Stay safe and guard your candy! 🐰👀
