MAE: Sweet, Silly, Social, & Searching for Her Person
Mae’s story began in outdoors, where she and her sister Daisy were abandoned on a rural property — hungry, itchy, and clearly accustomed to surviving on their own. We met them while finishing a TNVR project, and p**f — two young moms appeared, desperate for help. Mae had bald, bruised spots on her hips from flea allergy dermatitis, and both sisters were so food‑insecure that they would eat until they regurgitated. They were frightened, starving, and exhausted… but they were also ready to trust.
And Mae? She bloomed.
Once safe indoors, Mae revealed her true personality: sweet, silly, social, and absolutely delighted by the comforts of indoor life. She’s a dainty little brown tabby with sunset‑orange splashes, healed hip spots, and a right ear‑tip from her TNVR past — a tiny badge of survival on a cat who now fully embraces being an indoor girl.
Mae loves being held, snuggling beside you while she grooms, and chatting about her day. She’s fast, energetic, and smart — wand toys, bouncy toys, automatic toys, tall scratchers, boxes, packing paper… if it moves or crinkles, Mae is ready to investigate. Every new toy or flavor is met with enthusiasm and gratitude, as if she’s still amazed that life can be this good.
After everything she survived — the Texas weather, the hunger, the medical issues — Mae has chosen joy. She has chosen people. She has chosen indoor life. Now she’s ready to choose her forever home.
If you’re looking for an affectionate, interactive, playful companion who brings sunshine, silliness, and nonstop charm into your home, Mae is ready to meet you. She’s healed, she’s happy, and she’s ready for her next chapter — with you. You can visit her at Tomlinson's South Lamar anytime the store is open.
