Tuesday, Sept. 29: Learn to Play Pickleball meets at Washington Center Gym from 9-10 a.m. This fun, beginner-level course will teach you the basics of pickleball, including equipment, scoring, and rules on and off the court. Wednesday, Sept 30: Come to Birding 101 to learn the basics of birding as we walk along the St. Louis river. Bring your own binoculars and field guides or use ours! This session meets at 10 a.m. at the Waabizheshikana Trailhead at 7011 Pulaski St. Learn more and register: bit.ly/4xjYR9P

In Dispelling Hospice Myths, we will discuss the barriers to understanding hospice and learn how hospice can be a benefit to a patient and their family. Join us at Evergreen Community Center from 11 a.m.-noon.

October is the month where the largest of the raptors–like Bald and Golden Eagles, Red-tailed Hawks, Rough-legged Hawks, and Northern Goshawks–migrate through Hawk Ridge. Come join us on fall World Migratory Bird Day to celebrate this movement and indicator of changing seasons!

The Full Moon Hike is tomorrow! We will meet on Saturday, September 26 at Chester Park at 7 p.m. The moon will appear warm and golden in color due to the way light travels through the atmosphere as it sits low on the horizon. Head over to our website to register: FullMoonHike2026

Thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate the ribbon cutting on the new universally accessible trail at Hawk Ridge! It was a beautiful day to get folks out on the trail to learn about the plants and birds along the way.

Once you’ve taken an Intro to Archery class through Parks & Recreation, join us for Open Archery. This program is a chance for you to come review and practice your archery skills! All equipment provided; no personal archery equipment will be allowed. This program costs $7 and is held at Washington Center Gym from 6:20-7:40 p.m.

In Dispelling Hospice Myths, we will discuss the barriers to understanding hospice and learn how hospice can be a benefit to a patient and their family. We will learn the history of hospice and how the Medicare or Insurance hospice benefits work. This program is led by St. Croix Hospice. This program is free and open to adults of any age.

The friendly Evergreen Senior Center is open for visitors from 1-3 p.m. There are books, board games, and cards for anyone to use. Come with a group of friends or just stop in to find out more about senior programs.

Second Halfer’s Afternoon Break meets at Evergreen from 3-4:30 p.m. This is an informal get together to grow connections and friendships. Coffee and tea are available at this drop-in program.
