Rensselaer County Legislature Monthly Public Forum - 2026-09-02 @ 6:00pm

Context: For the second month in a row, Democratic Legislator Ken Zalewski streamed a live feed of the public forum from his phone because the Republican majority continues to stonewall on this very simple service to our constituents.

This was also a record turnout from the public. Almost 100 residents filled our chamber, displaying signs, and demanding accountability and transparency from the legislature.

We will continue to urge our colleagues to do the right thing and enable live streaming and archiving of ALL public meetings. The technology to do so is cheap, easy to use, and widely available. The problem is not with implementation, it's with motivation.
