This week’s Board Member Spotlight shines on our Board Treasurer, Bill Bullard!
Bill brings a remarkable combination of leadership, financial expertise, and servant-hearted dedication to the Palacios Community Hub. Since joining our Board of Directors in March 2023, he has provided valuable guidance, thoughtful perspective, and strong stewardship as our Treasurer, helping ensure the Hub remains financially sound as we continue to grow and serve our communities.
Before retirement, Bill enjoyed a distinguished forty-year career in radiation safety and health physics. His career began with civilian service on nuclear-powered submarines before advancing to positions at power reactors in Alabama and Louisiana. He spent thirty years at the South Texas Project, where he managed radiation safety, quality, and performance improvement programs and oversaw annual budgets of up to $10 million. He is also certified by the American Academy of Health Physics.
Three years before retirement, Bill felt called to ministry and began pursuing ordination in The Episcopal Church. He was ordained as a Transitional Deacon in 2019 and as a Priest in 2020. Today, he serves as Vicar of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Palacios, where he continues his commitment to faith, service, and community.
Bill and his wife, Pam, have been married for more than forty years. Together they have three sons and are proud grandparents to four grandchildren. When he’s not serving his church or the Hub, Bill enjoys golfing, cooking, and spending time with his beloved pets—a beagle and four cats.
