BOARD MEMBER SPOTLIGHT!
Meet Janice Corporon, Board Chair of the Palacios Community Hub. Janice has lived in Matagorda County and the Palacios area for more than 62 years, where she raised her family and stayed actively involved in local schools, 4-H, and youth sporting activities. Her deep roots and commitment to the community continue to guide her service today.
Professionally, Janice spent decades helping operate her family’s rice and cattle farm while also serving the community as a licensed insurance agent for more than 35 years, specializing in auto, fire, life, health, farm, and ranch insurance. Her strong work ethic, practical experience, and heart for service make her a valued leader for the Hub.
Janice first became involved with the Palacios Community Hub after learning more about its mission and the many ways it serves local families and individuals. Inspired by the organization’s impact, she quickly recognized the Hub as a much-needed resource for the community.
As Board Chair, Janice is especially passionate about the wide variety of services and opportunities the Hub provides for both children and adults — from educational and wellness programs to activities that simply bring people together and create joy. She is continually inspired by the dedication and creativity of the Hub staff and volunteers.
Reflecting on the Hub’s growth over the past several years, Janice shares that she is proud to see how much the organization has expanded to meet community needs, offering services and opportunities that might not otherwise exist in the area. She believes there truly is something for everyone at the Hub — whether as a participant, volunteer, supporter, or community partner.
