What an incredible morning! Our Youth-Led Community Cleanup & Educational Event was an overwhelming success because of the dedication of every volunteer, partner, sponsor, and community member who came together to make a difference.

🌎 Today’s Impact:

🗑️ 3 tons of trash removed from our community

The biggest congratulations go to our incredible Student Leadership Instructors, who envisioned, planned, organized, and successfully executed this entire community cleanup from start to finish. Together, we removed 3 tons of waste, filled 385 trash bags, and proved that 105 dedicated individuals can make a powerful impact in just one morning.

Hello, everyone!
We are Melody Dominguez and Saul Nuñez, Student Leadership Instructors with the El Paso Youth Environmental Ambassadors (EPYEA) through Reconnecting with the Disconnected.
Over the past eight weeks, we have been learning what it truly means to be leaders—not by talking about leadership, but by putting it into action. Our capstone project is to organize and lead a community cleanup and environmental education event completely on our own.
Now, we're asking our community to join us.

This event is about so much more than picking up trash. Together, we'll be:
🌱 Cleaning and beautifying our community
💧 Teaching residents about stormwater pollution and protecting our waterways
🤝 Building partnerships between youth, businesses, nonprofits, and community leaders
❤️ Inspiring others to become lifelong environmental stewards
🙋 WE ARE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS!
Whether you're an individual, a family, a student, a veteran, a scout troop, a civic organization, a business, a church, or a community group—we would love to have you volunteer alongside us!
Community service hours will be available for eligible students.

⚡️💙 Thank You, Basecamp! 💙⚡️

Recker's Outreach would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Basecamp for their generous donation toward our Transition House.

Thanks to your support, we were able to cover the remaining costs associated with critical electrical repairs and upgrades that were necessary to keep our housing program safe, operational, and compliant.

These improvements included:

🔌 New 200-amp electrical service with two meters
🔌 Electrical upgrades to support both housing units
🔌 Wiring repairs and safety improvements
🔌 Permit and utility coordination requirements
🔌 Infrastructure improvements that will benefit our residents for years to come

Your contribution did more than help pay a bill—it helped ensure that individuals working to overcome homelessness and rebuild their lives continue to have access to safe, stable housing.

💙 A Heartfelt Thank You to Sunrise Rotary Club of El Paso 💙

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Sunrise Rotary Club for their generous donation to Recker's Outreach and our Transition House program.

Because of your support, we were able to complete several critical electrical upgrades that directly improve the safety, functionality, and long-term sustainability of our housing program for veterans and individuals rebuilding their lives.

These improvements included:

✅ Construction of a new 200-amp electrical service with two meters
✅ Installation of a sub-feed from the existing front building panel
✅ Installation of an aerial feeder to the rear apartment
✅ Repair and replacement of unsafe wiring in the rear apartment
✅ Electrical permitting and inspection compliance
✅ Coordination with El Paso Electric (EPEC)
✅ Temporary power service provided to the rear apartment during repairs

These upgrades are more than electrical improvements—they are investments in safe, stable housing and brighter futures for the individuals we serve.

Today, the City of El Paso officially recognized an extraordinary young leader by proclaiming **June 23rd as Saul Nunez Day** in honor of his dedication, service, and commitment to making a difference in our community.
