The Ascarate Park has so much potential but is neglected by the County Commissioners. Their priorities are elsewhere . The lake has much vegetation and not restock frequently with fish. Picnic area are in bad shape. If you golf, thats the only part of the lake that has much emphasis creating a great course. I have seen better county parks outside the El Paso Area. Overall rating: Unsatisfactory

same trash on the ground for more than a month, trash cans still full, trash in the water, aerators not working, haven't see one person picking up trash, when they do pick up trash they get only what they can reach from the utility vehicle they are in, no more picking trash out of the water with nets, no rules or regulations enforced..dogs off leashes, drinking, smoking, staff walks right by and notifies no one...the promises were made and nothing happened...won't even start on lake management...what does the Ascarate fishing club actually do???
