π Today our EMS Summer School students took a trip to the Performing Arts Center to watch GOAT.
As we watched, it was hard not to notice some similarities between the movie and life as a middle schooler.
Middle school can feel a lot like being the underdog. You're growing, changing, figuring out who you are, and learning how to navigate challenges that sometimes seem bigger than you. There are moments when you don't feel ready, moments when you make mistakes, and moments when you wonder if you measure up.
But just like in GOAT, growth doesn't happen by staying comfortable. It happens when you keep showing up, keep learning, and keep pushing forward even when things get tough.
That's one of the reasons we love middle school. Every student who walks through our doors is still becoming who they will be. They may not be the GOAT yetβbut every day they're building the character, skills, and confidence that will help them get there.
A fun afternoon, a great movie, and a few reminders about what growing up is all about.
***A special thank you to our summer school teachers for braving the rain and helping keep the day running smoothly, our transportation department for adjusting plans on the fly because of the weather, and our high school staff for allowing us to cut through the building to get to the PAC without getting soaked. We appreciate everyone who helped make the trip happen!*** ππ¬β
