How we moderate: https://www.grantpud.org/blog/social-media-comments Residents formed the PUD to bring electricity to the county in the 1930s. In the 1950s, they encouraged construction of two dams on the Columbia River to provide renewable, low-cost power for themselves and future generations. We’ve built on that legacy of forward thinking. Today we’re known as a leader in the electric industry, offering high tech services to our peers and our community. We are the people that keep the lights on for Grant County and are proud to be an integral part of this community. This page is an opportunity to communicate information with our customers regarding events, promotions, power outages and other information that may be useful to them. It is not monitored outside of business hours and all emergencies should be reported to our emergency outage line first. You can also contact us at: http://ow.ly/FVvqL.

For one community member, public power means:
“Keeping my family warm in the winter and cool in the summer.”
It’s a simple answer, but an important one. Home is where we gather, celebrate, rest, and make memories. Being comfortable there matters.
What does public power mean to you?

Among the rate changes being considered for 2027, rates for large data center customers are proposed to increase 12% to 24%. This increase helps address the growing demand for electricity in Grant County. Meeting that demand requires Grant PUD to secure additional energy resources beyond the hydropower generated at Priest Rapids and Wanapum dams. Our "growth pays for growth" approach assigns growth related costs to the highest growing customer groups.

This approach provides reliable power at competitive rates for all customers and actively manages growth in ways that provide core customers with stable, predictable pricing and access to consistently low-cost power. Grant PUD will leverage industrial growth to protect core customer interests with an emphasis on sustaining low rates.

Want to learn more? Join us for a 2027 Rates Public Hearing public hearing on Nov. 10 to hear directly from Grant PUD staff, learn more about the factors driving rates, and ask questions about the utility's long-term approach to managing growth while maintaining reliable service.
