A Few new members needed.The Fall River Fire Dept. Special Service Unit/Emergency Management Agency ,a volunteer unit,is seeking new members. The candidate must be a person in good standing,must be at least 18 and have a high school diploma/GED. The candidate must also have a valid driver's license,no criminal record,and must live in Fall River or surrounding area. Each candidate will go through a Cori background check and an interview process. Qualified candidates will go through a training and probationary period including the understanding of the Special Services SOP Handbook,Incident Command (ICS 100 &700), fireground safety,Emergency Management procedures, Shelter Operations, CPR training and understanding the operation and usage of equipment and vehicles. The Special Services Unit operates a Rehab Unit,Lighting Unit,Special Ops 1,Light Tower,Rehab Trailer,Lighting Trailer,and a Polaris. We provide Rehab to our firefighters and public safety officials in Fall River and surrounding communities. We also set up a Command Center at our City's large scale events.
