Deb Ewing gave a very interesting program on Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps yesterday.

Next on the schedule is the Pioneer Banquet September 15. Doors ro St Paul's Church will open at 5:30 & City BBQ dinner begins at 6. Reservations are due by September 1. Cost $25 per person must be paid in advance. Featured speaker is Tom Davis as John Hancock during the Revolutionary War. There will also be the annual Silent Auction and awards presentation.

Message we received from someone trying to find out who the parents of Caroline (Ward) Loman/Lowman was. She was born in April 1825 in either Ohio or Maryland and died Oct 25, 1851 in Hancock County, Ohio. She is buried in the Fostoria Cemetery. She married Richard Loman/Lowman on March 19, 1843 in Seneca, Ohio. Any information or direction you are able to provide regarding her parentage is greatly appreciated.

A new feature on is a 1776 badge for Veterans. They partnered with to automatically update from their records. You can search Hancock County, Ohio and check 1776 near the bottom to see them. We have messaged the memorial manager for those we have submitted to the program who do not have the badge.

One note - Our research leads us to believe Nathaniel Babcock is buried in Dublin, Ohio with his wife's family. There is a stone in Houcktown we believe to be a memorial stone.

Great Scot stores in Findlay and North Baltimore are closing in the next month. I will turn in receipts this week and that will be the end of our participation. Sad to see this coming to an end. It was a nice income for us.
