Navajo HAF Program Update!

The numbers behind the work:
• ✅ Completed Projects — 10 homes- Roofs, ADA-accessible bathrooms, heat pumps, and stove replacements finished for families across the community.
• 🧾 Finalizing Paperwork — 24 homes- Work is done or nearly done; our team is closing out invoices and documentation so these projects can be marked complete.
• 📐 In the Estimate Stage — 11 homes- Scopes of work are being defined and priced with our contractor partners.
• 🏠 Assessments Completed — 34 homes- Home visits are done and these families are queued up for the next stage of assistance.
• 📝 Assessments Scheduled or Needed — 23 homes- These households are next in line to be evaluated for repairs.

Total: 102 households currently moving through the Redfeather home repair pipeline.

Types of work represented across the program: Roof replacement and repair, ADA-accessible bathroom modifications, septic system repair, solar installation, heating (heat pumps, wood stoves), kitchen and plumbing fixes, window and siding replacement, flooring, and weatherization.

🌵☀️ What an amazing experience at Energy OutWest 2026 in Phoenix!

Red Feather Development Group staff and Red Cloud Renewable had the opportunity to collaborate and present “Weatherization That Works: Program Insights from the Rez.” 🏠

We’re proud to share the work, lessons, and experiences from our weatherization programs and the impact they have on Native communities.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make this presentation possible and to everyone who joined us! It was an honor to represent our communities and share the work we’re doing.

Our team will be highlighting our work with Navajo communities, particularly across the New Mexico region, and sharing how Native-led, community-based approaches are advancing weatherization and energy efficiency. 🏠❤️

National Nonprofit Day — Red Feather Development Group

Today is , and we're taking a moment to talk about why this work matters.

For over 30 years, Red Feather has partnered with indigenous families to build safer homes. Weatherization. Housing rehab. Energy efficiency upgrades. This isn't abstract work. It's a grandmother with a functioning furnace for the first time in years. It's a family whose roof no longer leaks. It's a home that's finally safe, warm, and dry.

None of it happens without people who believe in the mission enough to back it. Donors who fund the materials. Partners who fund the programs. Volunteers who show up on site. Staff who write the grants, manage the compliance, and keep the lights on behind the scenes.
