🇺🇸🇩🇰 12.4 miles. 1,300+ service members. One historic ruck.

More than 1,300 service members from the Active Duty, National Guard and Reserve components stepped off for the first Danish Flyver Ruck March conducted in the United States.

The 12.4-mile march put participants’ endurance and physical readiness to the test while strengthening camaraderie and building morale across the force. 💪🎒

Those who crossed the finish line earned the Danish Flyver Medal — newly authorized for wear on U.S. military uniforms.

Congratulations to all the Dogface Soldiers and fellow service members who accepted the challenge and earned their medal! 🐶🇺🇸🇩🇰

🐾 A Dogface Soldier in every sense of the word.🇺🇸

In honor of National Dog Day, we’re remembering Chips, one of the most decorated military working dogs of World War II.

Chips served with the 3rd Infantry Division, deploying to North Africa, Sicily, France and Germany. During the invasion of Sicily in 1943, Chips broke away from his handler and charged an enemy machine-gun position, helping force the Soldiers inside to surrender.

His courage under fire made him a legend and forever connected his story to the legacy of the Dogface Soldiers.

Today, we salute Chips and all the military working dogs who have served alongside our Soldiers. 🐕‍🦺🫡

🇺🇸 Remembering Operation Dragoon 🇫🇷

On Aug. 15, 1944, Soldiers of the 3rd Infantry Division stormed the beaches of southern France as part of Operation Dragoon, the Allied invasion that opened another front against N**i Germany.

Dogface Soldiers fought their way inland from the Mediterranean coast, helping liberate southern France and beginning a campaign that would carry the division north through France and ultimately into Germany.

More than eight decades later, we remember the Dogface Soldiers who came before us and carried the legacy of the Rock of the Marne forward.

🇺🇸🇫🇷 Nous resterons là!
