TODAY AT NOON: Pre-Registration Closes! ⏰
Parents and legal guardians: today, Thursday, Oct 1st at 12:00 PM (noon) is the final deadline to submit Principal Meyers' spectator pre-registration form.

If you do not pre-register, or if you are an extended family member or friend (grandparents, aunts, uncles), you must check in through the main office tomorrow. Please allow an extra 15–20 minutes for office check-in lines and badge printing so you don’t miss your student's run!

5th Grade: 8:55-9:40
1st Grade: 9:45-10:30
2nd Grade: 10:35-11:20
3rd Grade: 11:25-12:10
Kindergarten: 12:40-1:25
4th Grade: 1:30-2:15

🏁 Race Day Checklist:
✅ Running sneakers & comfortable athletic wear
✅ Sunscreen & bug spray applied at home (staff cannot apply them)
✅ Valid photo ID for check-in
✅ Church parking lot only (cross carefully, no crossing guard)
✅ Homemade cheer signs and chants, loud voices, and running shoes if you're running alongside your Hornet! 🪧📣👟

Our rescheduled Fun Run is this Friday, October 2nd, and we want the sidelines packed!

📋 Spectator Game Plan:
-Pre-Registration (Parents/Guardians only): Deadline is this Thursday, Oct 1st at noon.
-Friends & Family: Remember that aunts, uncles, grandparents, and community friends must register in the main office on race day. Please arrive 15–20 minutes early to allow time for this process!
-Parking: Church parking lot only (no street parking). Please cross carefully, as there is no crossing guard.
-Get Loud: Bring homemade spirit signs and comfortable shoes if you want to run alongside your student! 👟🎨

📅 FUN RUN UPDATE: Pre-Registration Window Extended! 📅
With our 8th Annual Fun Run moving to Friday, October 2nd, we have also extended spectator pre-registration!

Parents & Legal Guardians Only: You now have until Thursday, October 1st at 12:00 PM (noon) to fill out the pre-registration form sent by Principal Meyers. Pre-registering lets you head straight to the field check-in at the bottom of the hill!

Friends & Extended Family: All non-parent/guardian guests, or parents/guardians that do not fill out the pre-registration form, must check in at the main office on race day. Please plan to arrive 15–20 minutes early to get through the office check-in line and not miss your runner!

💰 Fundraising Status:
We’re at $14,426 of our $18,400 goal! Every donation directly funds our classroom grants, PTA events, $20 per student for field trips, and up to $10 per student for a Book Fair book! 📚🚌

🌧️👟 IMPORTANT UPDATE: Fun Run Rescheduled to Friday, October 2nd! 👟🌧️
Due to steady rain through midweek, we want to ensure our Hornets have a safe, dry course rather than a slippery, muddy mess that could lead to falls and ruined shoes! To give the grounds ample time to dry, our 8th Annual Fun Run is officially moved to Friday, October 2nd.
Here are all the key details you need to know:
🕒 Grade Run Times:
All running times for each grade remain completely unchanged for the new date!
🪪 Spectator Pre-Registration:
All pre-registrations already submitted will be honored.
If you haven’t filled out the spectator form sent by Principal Meyers yet, the deadline is still this Thursday, Sept 24th at 12:00 PM (noon).
Reminder: Non-parents/guardians must check in at the main office first before heading back to the field. Please give yourself plenty of time for this.
🚗 Parking & Reminders:
Park in the church lot only (no street parking; please use caution crossing as there is no crossing guard).
Bring your homemade cheer signs, loud voices, and running shoes if you plan to run alongside your student! 🪧📣👟
Students should wear sneakers and have sunscreen and bug spray applied at home. And don’t forget water bottles! 🧴
💰 Fundraising Window Extended!
We have officially raised $13,736 toward our $18,400 goal! Because of the date change, our donation window is now extended to Sunday, October 4th at 12:00 PM (noon).

👟👕 RUN DAY IS THIS FRIDAY! Here is your student prep checklist!

We are just 4 days away from the big day on Friday, September 25th! To help your Hornet have the best run possible, here is a quick checklist for Friday morning:
👟 Sneakers: Wear comfortable running shoes (no sandals/crocs!).
👕 Spiritwear or School Colors: Wear your Hartwood spiritwear or school blue/yellow!
🥤 Water Bottle: Bring a labeled water bottle for runners to keep at their assigned table.
☀️ Sunscreen: Apply sunscreen before coming to school!

Let's make sure our runners are comfortable and ready to shine! 💙✨

And here’s the checklist for spectators:
🪧 Cheer signs: Homemade signs will motivate our runners on that last big hill
📣 Loud cheers & high-fives: Energy, homemade chants, and encouragement.
👕 School colors: Wear your school gear or colors proudly to show your support.
👟 Comfortable sneakers: You’ll be standing and cheering or running with your Hornet.
🪪 Photo ID (Required): You will need to show one when you check in at the spectator’s table.
