Rappahannock Regional Criminal Justice Academy The Rappahannock Regional Criminal Justice Academy is a DCJS certified regional training facility for criminal justice personnel. RRCJA has been training law enforcement, jail, communication, and animal control officers from our member agencies for over forty years. .

Whether students are representatives of a member agency or a pre-employment student, our team of staff, coordinators, and instructors are dedicated to providing top-notch training.

The academy has been undergoing the very rigorous process of becoming a Nationally Accredited Public Safety Training Academy through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). As part of the process the public has an opportunity to speak with the CALEA assessors on the ability of the academy to meet or exceed the standards required to achieve accreditation. Please review the flyer and contact Director Harvey ([email protected]) or Coordinator Rowlett ([email protected]) to get more information on the accreditation process or the public comment session.

Training is the cornerstone of our profession and at the Rappahannock Regional Criminal Justice Academy we strive to bring you the most up to date, quality, and relevant training. The academy staff continually works to bring you high quality training products and we encourage your collaboration, feedback, and expertise in furthering the training mission of the academy.

The Rappahannock Regional Criminal Justice Academy is at the center of a large criminal justice family comprised of over 40 agencies. The individual training needs may vary from agency to agency but the Rappahannock Regional Criminal Justice Academy places a great importance on officer safety in all of our training programs. Unfortunately, there are still times when one of our brothers or sisters pays the ultimate price for their community. I encourage you to stop by and visit the academy memorial for our fallen brothers and sisters.
