Today, on Overdose Awareness Day, we pause to remember without stigma those who have died from an overdose, and we hold space for the profound grief of families, friends, and communities left behind.
This day is also an urgent call to action. Overdose is preventable. We can save lives by:
*Breaking the stigma that surrounds substance use and seeking help.
*Carrying naloxone (Narcan) and learning how to use it to reverse an opioid overdose.
*Supporting evidence-based treatment, harm reduction, and multiple pathways to recovery.
*Leading with compassion and choosing community-wide support over judgment.
If you or someone you know is struggling, you are not alone. Confidential, free support is available by calling or texting the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline. You can also find treatment by visiting RecoveryRachel - https://recoveryrachelohio.org/.
