Quick heads up for neighbors near Birchard Park — our crews are removing several dead trees, and you’ll hear some noise when they come down. Nothing out of the ordinary, just necessary maintenance.

🌱This work will continue over the next few weeks, and every dead tree removed will be replaced with two new trees to keep the park healthy and looking sharp.

🚧 Sewer Smoke Testing Begins This Week

Beginning this week, crews from Duke’s Root Control, Inc. will be conducting sewer smoke testing in selected areas of the City of Fremont to help identify leaks and maintain our sanitary sewer system.

Residents in affected areas have received a pink door hanger 2–3 days before testing with additional information. The smoke used is non-toxic, non-flammable, and safe. You do not need to be home, and there will be no interruption to your sewer service.

All Duke’s representatives will be in company uniforms and carry identification badges.

Need to clear out your yard and your garage? The City of Fremont has TWO free drop-off opportunities available for city residents on Saturday, July 11.

🛋️ Bulk Trash? → Haynes & N. Front

8 a.m. – Noon (or until dumpsters are full)
Corner of Haynes St. & N. Front St. (Haynes St. entrance/exit)
✅ Proof of residency required (current City water bill + valid driver's license)
⚠️ Residents are responsible for unloading their own items
✅ Bulky household items, including mattresses, are accepted
🚫 Not Accepted at the Bulk Trash Drop-Off: Yard waste/brush, Appliances, Lead acid batteries, Computers, Paint, Household hazardous waste, Tires, TVs and other electronics

❓ A Few Reminders
📜 Bulk trash drop-off is available only to residents within Fremont city limits as part of the City's contract with Republic Services.
☣️ Certain items cannot be accepted due to EPA recycling and disposal requirements.
☎️ For hazardous items or questions about disposal options, contact OSS at 419-334-7222.
📞 Residents outside city limits should contact their township trustees regarding available disposal programs.

I want to provide an update regarding the work taking place at the Wilson water tower.

The tower is currently being drained as part of a planned maintenance project to replace valves and complete necessary improvements to the structure. This is routine maintenance that helps ensure our water system continues to operate safely and reliably.

The tower is expected to be fully drained by approximately 8:00 p.m. this evening.

I appreciate everyone’s concern and patience as this work is completed. Planned maintenance like this is an important part of maintaining our community’s infrastructure and ensuring dependable service for our residents.
