Galion Public Library

Galion Public Library Enriching the lives of the citizens of the Galion area with a wide variety of materials and services. Galion Public Library was founded in 1901.

Since that time our collection has grown to around 100,000 items. Initially the library was housed in a small log cabin, which is now located in Heise Park. The current library building (pictured at left) was built in 1904, partly with Carnegie funds, and later expanded in 1991 to create room for an ever-growing collection of materials and services. Besides a dedicated professional staff, the Gali

on Public Library is also blessed with an active Friends of the Library group. The friends hold seasonal bake sales and bazaars, as well as managing the library's running book sale. The funds raised by the Friends are used to better the services provided by the library. The library is governed by an independent board.

At the Galion Public Library, we're in the camp that SUMMER ISN'T OVER YET!

Meet us on the square tomorrow for a pop-up Karaoke Block Party! From 5:00PM to 6:30PM, we'll be set up at the gazebo to sing our favorite summer hits! Choose from our catalogue or make a request for something off our list for solo or duet karaoke fun!

We'll also have lawn games like KanJam and co****le, and the chance to get creative with our community art project! Help us decorate a banner to decorate our upstairs circulation desk with the message that GALION

It's almost time to shuffle up and play! This is your reminder that our Adult Game Night is TOMORROW!

Join us from 5:00PM to 7:00PM for a variety of games, snacks, and good company. This program is intended for adults ages 18+, but youth 17 and under are welcome to join us along with a present adult.

We'll play anything from classic card games like Rummy or UNO to board games like SORRY! and Battleship! Have a new game you'd like to try out? Feel free to bring it along!

Our next meeting will be September 10th @ 4:30pm.
Come join us every 2nd Thursday of the month. You are welcome to drop in anytime between 4:30-5:30pm to create an epic build that we showcase in our giant window for all to see. This is a great place to meet some new friends & build together. See you there!- Ms. Jessie

This is your reminder for our Poetry Reading at Three Bean Coffee House! This program will be on Wednesday, September 2nd from 6:00PM to 8:00PM!

Bring your own poetry, or the work of somebody who inspires you, or even just your listening ears if you aren't there to read! We will also supply material for anyone who would like to read but doesn't have anything of their own to share, as well as paper and pencils to take notes during readings to reference points of discussion afterwards. Once we've all read, we'll take some time to write a poem based on a prompt, then share our work once we're done.

We've partnered up with Three Bean Coffee House for this after-hours program! Thank you endlessly to Crystal for allowing us to use your space, and to the baristas who will be there running the bar for us to have an (optional!) yummy drink and/or treat!

Remember that our programs are always free to attend! We hope to see you there!
