Sumner County CASA

Sumner County CASA A non profit that recruits and trains volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children. Sumner County CASA is a non-profit, United Way agency.

CASA recruits community volunteers and trains them to become the voices of alleged abused or neglected children in the juvenile court system. Volunteers are appointed to serve kids that are in the custody of the state of TN and Sumner County CASA volunteers are also appointed to children that are at risk of entering custody. The court system appoints CASA to a child’s case when there are concerns

that there is more going on in children’s lives than what is being represented in the courtroom. The CASA volunteer becomes the “eyes and ears” for the judge, giving the judge a unique, lay person’s view into the child’s life. Sumner County CASA is a United Way and TCCY funded agency.

When a child enters foster care, they often face uncertainty and constant change. Having one consistent adult focused on their best interests can make a lasting difference. CASA volunteers step into that role when it matters most.

State of the Child: Supporting Minds, Strengthening Families

Real conversations. Real impact.

Thankful for a room full of people committed to doing better for our kids.

Big thank you to Edmonton State Bank and Good Circle Marketing for making it happen.

CASA volunteers are appointed to advocate for children facing abuse and neglect, making sure their needs and best interests are always at the center of the conversation. With more volunteers, we could show up for every child who needs us.

As April closes, we are proud to celebrate our third adoption of the month, which we believe is the most in one month’s time! It has been a long time coming, but she’s finally made it to forever, in the only home she’s really ever known. CASA was sadly unavailable to be present at the adoption hearing today, but was ecstatic to see permanency finally complete and this beautiful picture.
