Since 1893, the Montana School for the Deaf & Blind (MSDB) has evolved to meet the needs of each generation of children with vision or hearing loss. At MSDB, we open doors to the world for deaf and Blind children through the use of educational technology, creative expression, or ever-increasing new tools.

MSDB was proud to attend the 2026 International AER Conference in Louisville, Kentucky, connecting with professionals dedicated to advancing services for individuals who are blind or visually impaired.

Our team included our Superintendent, Outreach Director, Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI), and Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS). We were especially proud to have our COMS present at the conference, sharing knowledge and expertise with colleagues from across the field.

Our team returned with new ideas, connections, and inspiration to strengthen the services we provide statewide. 💙 💛💙💛

We’ve been busy getting ready to welcome students back on Monday, August 24, so a little Friday fun was definitely in order. Cue the mad dash for ice cream!

As we get ready to welcome students back, here are two important updates for our Residential Life families:

📅 Move-In Day: August 23 | 2:30–5:30 p.m.
Families should have received a letter with additional move-in information and details.

🚌 Travel Home Weekends
Sydney is your new contact for coordinating travel home weekends and will be working with families on travel schedules throughout the school year.
