Another great meeting with the Greenville Noon Rotary Club! 💙💛

This week, we welcomed Scott Johnson with Habitat for Humanity of Pitt County as our guest speaker. Scott shared some eye-opening statistics about the need for affordable housing in our community and gave us a closer look at the important work Habitat is doing to help local families achieve safe, affordable homeownership. 🏠❤️

We also enjoyed our Rotarian Spotlight of the Week featuring Clifton Edwards! 🌟 Our weekly spotlight is a great opportunity to get to know our fellow Rotarians a little better and learn more about the people who make our club and community so special.

Thank you to Scott for joining us and sharing the impact Habitat for Humanity continues to make throughout Pitt County, and to Clifton for letting us get to know him a little better!

What a fun night of fellowship with the Greenville Noon Rotary Club! 💙💛

We had a great time at Local Oak Brewing Co. last night for our Rotary Social! We kicked off the evening with a behind-the-scenes tour, then spent the rest of the night enjoying great company, playing games, and sharing plenty of laughs.

It’s always nice to step outside of our regular meetings and simply spend time together. Thank you to Local Oak for hosting us and helping make it such a fun evening, and thank you to all who came out! 🍻

Service brings us together, but fellowship makes it fun!

Another great meeting with the Greenville Noon Rotary Club yesterday!

This week, we were pleased to welcome Paul Cornwell, Athletic Director for Pitt County Schools, as our guest speaker. Paul shared updates and insight into athletics across Pitt County Schools and the important role athletic programs play in supporting our students, schools, and community. Thank you, Paul, for joining us!

🌟 Rotarian Spotlight: This week, we also enjoyed recognizing Denis McGillicuddy as our Rotarian Spotlight member! We appreciate Denis and his continued involvement and service to Rotary and our community for the past 42 years!!

We were so happy to welcome Mrs. Barbara back to Rotary! It was wonderful to have her with us again.

🏥 Guest Speaker – Jacob Parrish, ECU Health
We were pleased to welcome Jacob Parrish, Vice President of Clinical Operations at ECU Health, as our guest speaker. Jacob shared an inside look at ECU Health’s Operations Center and how technology is helping shape the future of healthcare. He discussed the growing use of AI, virtual physicians, predictive outcomes, and how data and technology can help anticipate patient needs and improve care.

🌟 Rotarian Spotlight – George Fenich
This week’s Rotarian Spotlight was George Fenich! We enjoyed the opportunity to learn more about George and recognize him as a valued member of our club.

🌟 Rotary 60-Second Spotlight 🌟

Last week’s Rotary spotlight featured our newest member, Donnell Austin!

Donnell is an author, entrepreneur, and advocate who is passionate about helping people, growing businesses, and strengthening communities. Although she’s only been a member of Rotary for two months, she has already brought tremendous energy and enthusiasm to our club.

When she’s not writing or traveling, Donnell enjoys photography, pickleball, spending time outdoors, and making memories with her dogs. Fun fact: she’s been skydiving and has even tackled Class V whitewater rafting!

We’re excited to have Donnell as part of the Greenville Noon Rotary family and look forward to all the ways she’ll continue to make an impact in our community.

Today’s Rotary meeting featured an informative presentation from David Silver of GNC Law Firm, who shared valuable insights on the various types of care available in North Carolina, including home care, assisted living, nursing homes, and other long-term care options.

David also discussed the importance of estate planning, covering topics such as wills, trusts, estates, powers of attorney, and other legal considerations that can help families prepare for the future and protect their loved ones.

Thank you, David, for taking the time to speak with our club and for providing such valuable information on these important topics. We appreciate the guidance and expertise you shared with our members!

Today, the Greenville Noon Rotary Club welcomed Rachel Davis, owner of Advance Mechanical, and Tonya Miles with Pitt County Schools to share the inspiring story behind Tradesformers.

Tradesformers is an industry-led youth apprenticeship program that brings together local businesses, Pitt County Schools, Pitt Community College, and community partners to prepare the next generation of skilled trades professionals. What began with a handful of industry partners has grown into a collaboration of 14 local trades businesses dedicated to investing in our community’s future.

The program begins with high school juniors, pairing students with local employers where they receive paid, hands-on training, classroom instruction, industry-recognized certifications, and real-world experience. By the time they graduate high school, students are already on a career path with a full-time job and the opportunity to continue working toward becoming skilled journeymen.

This innovative program is addressing the growing workforce shortage in the skilled trades while creating life-changing opportunities for local students. It’s a true example of education and industry working together to strengthen our community.

Today, we had the privilege of honoring two of our Past Presidents, Claire Boyd and Steve Callendar, with the Paul Harris Fellow recognition—one of Rotary’s highest honors. Claire and Steve both received their PHF +3.

The Paul Harris Fellow is awarded in recognition of individuals who exemplify Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self” and have made meaningful contributions to their communities and to Rotary. Named after Rotary’s founder, this recognition is made possible through contributions to The Rotary Foundation, which supports life-changing projects around the world, including efforts to promote peace, fight disease, provide clean water, support education, and strengthen communities.

We are especially proud that our club was able to present these awards through funds generously donated by our own members. Their support allows us to recognize outstanding service while continuing Rotary’s mission of doing good in the world.

Please join us in congratulating Claire and Steve and thanking them for their leadership, dedication, and commitment to serving others.

We are grateful for the lasting impact they continue to make in our Rotary family and our community.
