Military One Coast, a division of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce, hosted its annual meeting to highlight the missions and regional impact of military installations along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

The event brought together representatives from local military organizations, including Keesler Air Force Base, the Air National Guard Combat Readiness Training Center, the Naval Construction Battalion Center Gulfport, the Mississippi Army National Guard Aviation Classification Repair Activity Depot (MS‑AVCRAD), and the Veterans Health Care System.

During the meeting, installation leaders provided updates on current operations, workforce initiatives, and ongoing partnerships within the community. The annual gathering serves as a platform to strengthen communication between military leaders and local stakeholders while recognizing the vital role the armed forces play in the region’s economic stability and national defense mission. 🛑Operational Security (OPSEC) starts with what we share online‼️

Social media is a powerful way to stay connected and celebrate the accomplishments of our Soldiers and Airmen, but even small details can unintentionally reveal sensitive information about locations, missions, or timelines. Those details can be used by individuals who wish to harm our service members or their families.

Before posting, take a moment to think: Does this reveal where someone is, where they’re going, or when they’ll be there?

Protect the mission. Protect our force. Protect our families. 🇺🇸

Meet the team at Sentry South 26-2 ✈️🪖

Let’s keep going! As we continue to highlight Airmen assigned to the 156th Contingency Response Group, they’ll share their experience participating in Sentry South 26-2 at Gulfport Combat Readiness Training Center.

Today, let’s meet Airman 1st Class Michael Aponte, a radio frequency transmissions systems apprentice!

“Serving as part of the CR has been a highly rewarding experience. This mission demands physical, mental, and spiritual readiness to overcome challenges and ensure success,” said Aponte. “Southern Strike has been a powerful learning opportunity, expanding our knowledge and refining our troubleshooting skills. Ultimately, the greatest reward is seeing how the capabilities we provide empower the unit to accomplish the mission and reach its operational goals.”
