⚠️A major heat wave is coming. Please plan ahead! ⚠️

From Wednesday through Saturday, temperatures are projected to climb into the 90s, with 'feels-like' temperatures exceeding 100°F! This kind of sustained high heat and humidity can be dangerous for everyone.

Several cooling options across town for those who need a break from the heat. We want everyone in our community to be safe. Please review the attached graphic for the specific locations and their corresponding hours:
Senior Center
Cranberry Cove (Daily)
Library (Thursday & Friday)

Other critical heat safety tips to remember:
-Drink plenty of water (don't wait until you're thirsty).
-Limit time outdoors, especially during peak heat hours.
-Wear lightweight and loose clothing.
-Check on elderly neighbors, family, and pets.
-If you have an air conditioner, use it.

If you have a heat-related emergency, dial 911 immediately.

Stay safe and stay cool!

Right back to business for the WHRSD School Committee this Wednesday.

Item one is the transportation bid. Item two is Dr Marcus’ annual evaluation, which we will discuss extending until later in the year due to his late entry to the role.

Item three is to set the job description and compensation package so the District can post an opening for a new Director of Special Education. As this relates to future contract negotiations this portion of the discussion will be in executive session.

This meeting is virtual only and can be accessed by the link on the agenda posting.
