Meet Virginia Trovato, our Adult Degree Program Academic Advisor! As ADP celebrates 50 years, we’re highlighting the people who help make this community so special. Virginia shares what she loves most about working with ADP students, what excites her about this milestone year, and a fun fact about herself. ✨

Q: What have you enjoyed most so far about working with ADP students or the ADP community?
A: I’ve had the opportunity to work directly with ADP students over the past five years, and I love learning their personal stories and the variety of skills, interests, and backgrounds they bring to our program.
Q: What are you most excited about as ADP celebrates its 50th anniversary?
A: I’m excited about reconnecting with our alumni and former faculty and staff members.
Q: What’s one fun or interesting fact about you that people might not know?
A: I love trying new foods. During the ADP study abroad program, I got to try mett, a German raw pork dish, and żurek, a fermented Polish soup.
Q: What do you hope students feel or gain from their experience with ADP?
A: I hope our students gain curiosity and a love of learning.
Q: What excites you most about the work ADP does?
A: I love seeing students and their families celebrating at graduation.
Q: What do you hope to contribute to the ADP team in your role?
A: I hope to provide timely and helpful academic advice to all students and help them connect with the JMU community.
