LDAH serves to benefit children with any disabilities by working with their parents and families. We teach about law protecting children's rights. We help youth with disabilities become self-advocates. We advocate for parents on behalf of their children. We provide education on disabilities and early identification and intervention for little children who may have a developmental delay or disability. Early intervention is truly a fundamental key to the success of children in school and in life.

Today, we had the opportunity to attend a listening session with OSERS. There was clarification from Kelly Rogers, Acting Interim Director of OSERS, on how States can move forward knowing the internal mechanisms that impact students with disabilities through the transfer of authority to DHH from USDOE and how it will be handled moving forward. The result . . . OSERS will maintain oversight for special education, Parents will not feel the impact as OSERS will be leveraging HHS resources to support the continued work in special education.
