🌺 The 32nd Annual Made in Hawai‘i Festival, presented by Hawaiian Airlines, wrapped up four days of strong community support, showcasing more than 800 local vendor booths from across Hawai‘i. This year’s celebration came at a particularly important time as our communities continue to recover from Hurricane Lala.

🤝 Thanks to the generosity of attendees and support from HFIA and Servco, $40,000 was donated to Hawai‘i Foodbank and Hawai‘i Island’s food bank, The Food Basket. Both organizations work year-round to address food insecurity and have been responding to increased need since Hurricane Lala. ❤️

🤙 Mahalo to our HFIA members, vendors, partners, attendees, and everyone who helped make this year’s festival a success and continues to support Hawai‘i’s local businesses and families. 🍍

✨🤠🍍 We came, we saw, we yeehaw-ed! The 2026 HFIA Convention wrapped up with a night to remember! 🍍🤠✨

🥂🍻 The evening began with beverage tastings hosted by Island Distributing before attendees enjoyed a wide variety of delicious food at the Chairman's Banquet Night Market. 🍽️🥢

💛 During the program, we took time to honor the memory of former HFIA Chair Maile Miyashiro, whose leadership and kindness continue to have a lasting impact on our association. Her legacy lives on through the community she helped build, and we were grateful to celebrate her life together. 🌺

🤝 We also celebrated an exciting new chapter for HFIA as outgoing Chair Kit Okimoto of Okimoto Corporation officially welcomed incoming Chair Jayson Watts of Mahi Pono. Mahalo, Kit, for your outstanding leadership, and congratulations, Jayson!

🛒 Speed, skill, and precision were on full display at the 2026 HFIA Best Bagger Contest, proudly sponsored by J.B. Gottstein, with interisland travel provided by Alaska Airlines/Hawaiian Airlines!

Contestants from Friendly Market, KTA Super Stores, Safeway, Tamura Super Market, and Waianae Store put their grocery bagging skills to the test, demonstrating speed, proper weight distribution, and expert building technique in front of an enthusiastic crowd.
👏 A special congratulations to Austin of Friendly Market, who earned this year's Best Bagger title and will go on to represent Hawai‘i at the National Championship in Las Vegas! 🥇

We were also honored to welcome Kaua'i Mayor Derek Kawakami as a special guest participant, adding even more excitement and fun to what is sure to become a Convention tradition!

☀️ Day 2 of the 2026 HFIA Convention was all about collaboration, conversation, and a little friendly competition!

🥚🍳 The morning began with our Membership Meeting Breakfast, where attendees enjoyed a delicious loco moco from sponsor Waialua Fresh Eggs while connecting with fellow members and hearing important association updates.

🗣️ We then welcomed an outstanding panel for Building a Stronger Hawaiʻi Food Economy, featuring:

Our talented teams transformed fresh ingredients into delicious Wild Wild West Side Sliders. From impressive presentations to incredible flavors, the competition highlighted the innovation and passion that drive Hawaiʻi's food industry.
