It’s a milestone birthday for Security 1 Al Singer, the unofficial mayor of MTHS!! We won’t mention the number, but it rhymes with “shady”!! Which he’s not!! Hint: Harry S. Truman was President when Al was born!! But who’s counting!!?? Wishing Al Singer many years of health and happiness! 🎉🎂🥳 8️⃣0️⃣

MTHS Cadets help preserve grave of Cape May County war hero

MTHS Navy National Defense Cadet Corps spent Saturday morning helping Stone Harbor American Legion to preserve the gravesite of PFC Stephen C. Ludlam, a native of Stone Harbor. PFC Ludlam was drafted into the Army for World War II and died in January 1945 in France, earning the Distinguished Service Cross and Purple Heart awards posthumously. The link below tells his story:

MTHS Cadets get underway on the Historic Schooner AJ Meerwald

MTHS Navy National Defense Cadet Corps got underway on the Sailing Vessel AJ Meerwald, official tall ship, for seamanship training on the Delaware Bay. Cadets learned about rich history of the vessel and of the oyster industry on Delaware Bay. They were then given the opportunity to set the sails and drive the vessel, learning knots and seamanship for the day. All cadets attending were able to earn the NJROTC Sea Cruise Ribbon. ⛵️⛵️⚓️⚓️
