As CPR Coordinator, Vijay helps manage the logistics of REMS’ CPR program by facilitating classes and maintaining equipment. He actively teaches First Aid and CPR classes while mentoring aspiring instructors through the certification process to strengthen the program’s reach.

As the Operations Team, Michael, Charissa, Abigail, and Jadon help keep Rice’s campus prepared by regularly checking EMT supplies and inspecting AEDs to ensure they are ready for cardiac emergencies. Their work ensures all medical equipment is fully stocked, functional, and ready for immediate deployment in order to help REMS provide the best care possible to patients.

As Community Outreach Coordinator, Hana drives community engagement by recruiting dedicated volunteers, managing social media channels, and helping design promotional merchandise. She actively represents the organization at events to educate the public, raise awareness about REMS, and build strong community relationships.

REMS was recently recognized by the Ben Taub Emergency Center for excellence in the early recognition of a ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Earlier this summer, REMS providers Dia Gupta and Abhishek Tripathi identified a cardiac emergency in a campus visitor, helping the patient receive timely evaluation and lifesaving treatment. We commend Dia and Abhishek for their exceptional care and thank the Houston Fire Department and Ben Taub teams for their partnership.
