Join us at the Fairbanks Branch Library on Tuesday, September 15th at 11:30 to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with Classical Sing Move Play: Music of Mexico!

Created by opera singers Alisa and Alejandro Magallón, this class explores some of the most well known tunes from traditional Mexican music and nursery songs.

Recommended for ages 2-5. Children of all ages are welcome.

No registration required.

Join us Tuesdays at 10:30 am for Baby Story Time, a fun early literacy program for children birth to 18 months and their caregiver(s)! Siblings are welcome. Each month we select a new theme. The first three years are a time of crucial brain development in your child. Come make the most of it with us as we sing, play and grow together at the Fairbanks Branch Library.

Who doesn't love paletas? Learn how to make paletas from scratch.

We will be using chamoy, tajin, mango, coconut cream, sugar, and lime to make these paletas.

Library programs are always free and made possible by our Friends of the Fairbanks Library. Teen programs are designed for middle schoolers and high schoolers.

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by creating your own unique tin foil art, also known as Hojalata art. We will be using aluminum foil, pencils and permanent colored sharpies (so don't wear your favorite clothes!)

Hojalata is a form of Mexican folk art that involves embossing and painting tin/aluminum to create vibrant designs.

Join us in the Fairbanks Library meeting room on Thursday, September 17th at 4:30pm for this fun and easy art project and create a masterpiece that you can keep!

This program is designed for children aged 6 to 11 years old but siblings of other ages are welcome too!
