Today, we had the honor of standing alongside our brothers and sisters in the fire service as retired Chief Lewis of the Van Alstyne Fire Department was brought home.

Retired Chief Lewis dedicated his life to serving his community and the fire service with honor, courage, and commitment. His legacy of leadership and service will continue to live on through those he mentored and the countless lives he impacted throughout his career.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and the members of the Van Alstyne Fire Department during this difficult time. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they mourn the loss of one of their own.

Rest easy, Chief. Your watch is over, we have it from here.
