Day One in Spokane! Our Washington State Democratic Convention kicked off today with a powerful Juneteenth Celebration of Black Excellence honoring freedom, resilience, and the ongoing fight for justice and equality. We heard inspiring speeches by many including Attorney General Nick Brown and Washington State Labor Council President April Sims. 💙

Today is a day of celebration and remembrance of the fulfillment of a promise which was postponed for too long.

As we celebrate, we must remember those who endured the unimaginable and turned generations of struggle into progress and renewal. Their unwavering resilience reshaped this nation, and their courage still lives on.

We must remember, liberties grow when communities lift each other up, and refuse to let injustice or the diminishment of our freedom go unchallenged.

And so, today we honor the past, celebrate the present, and remember that to build a future where freedom is lived and protected, relies on the strength of us all. May this Juneteenth remind us not only of how far we have come, but of the power that we the people hold when we stand together.

The Zoom call opens at 6:45 pm for socializing with the business part of the meeting starting promptly at 7pm.

At this meeting we'll:
- Hear from elected officials, candidates, and campaigns
- Vote on candidates to endorse for upcoming elections
- Hear who our June Volunteer of the Month is
- Discover ways to get involved at upcoming Parades & Festivals

At this meeting our dedicated Endorsement Committee will make recommendations to the membership regarding who we should endorse. But it's up to our members to attend, vote, and be engaged in the endorsement process! We hope to see you there!📣📣
