Attention all kids ages 5-17! In honor of National Library Card Sign Up Month, we are giving away prizes for any kid who gets a library card from our library throughout September! You must have a parent/guardian sign the form, and have to prove residency in one of the three villages of Essex in order to get a card. If you have been checking books out under your guardian's card, now is a great time to get your own! Visit Ms. Shannon for more information, and we look forward to seeing you checking out books with the power of your very own library card!

Last call for bingo! Tomorrow is the last day you can turn in your adult or teen summer reading bingo for a chance to win a gift card. Haven't filled the whole board? That's okay! Want to bring your little one to a storytime, but work and can't make the mornings? Join us for a special evening storytime with the Rockfall Foundation all about nature! Every other Wednesday at 6pm in September, we will read stories, make crafts, and talk about the environment and the beautiful nature all around us. Bring a snack, come in your pajamas, and enjoy some stories and crafts before starting the bedtime routine!

Did you know September is National Library Card Sign Up Month? We are so excited to celebrate all the great things you can do with just your library card! To start off the month, kids are encouraged to join us for a scavenger hunt around our youth services area and see all the fun and exciting things they can get with their very own library card. Join us on September 1st at 3:30pm for a quest around the library!

We here at the Ivoryton Library want to wish everyone a fantastic first day of school tomorrow, and a great school year! We had so much fun with you all this summer, whether it was petting cute animals, making ice cream and cookies, or any of our other adventures. We have more exciting programs planned for the fall, and we hope to see you all there so we can hear all about your school fun too!

Happy 2026-2027 school year! May it be one of the best ones yet!

We celebrate the end of summer reading tomorrow, but that doesn't mean the programs stop! Join us for a series of DIY crafts to get ready for the first day of school next week. We will decorate notebooks to show off our personality, create keychains to indicate our backpack is ours, and design bookmarks to hold our place in our reading all year long. Registration is encouraged but not required, and all supplies will be provided. Just bring yourself and your creativity, and we will provide the rest!

Can you believe we are already at the end of summer? Join the Essex and Ivoryton Libraries in ending summer in style! Join our End of Summer Reading Carnival with The Carnival Party on August 20th from -3pm at the Essex Town Green. Play custom carnival games like Fling Shot, Frog Flip, Knock Down, Beach Ball Bounce, and more! You won't want to miss this awesome event!
