What an absolutely incredible day at **Shirley Elementary School**! Our Scholars brought the energy, and we had the best time celebrating all of their hard work! 🎉🥳
The campus was packed with non-stop fun, laughter, and smiles:

BLAST OFF INTO SUMMER READING! ☀️📚 Yesterday we hosted our Summer Reading Kick-Off. 🚀✨ This summer is particularly special as we express our sincere gratitude to Scholastic and the Richard M. Robinson Literacy Foundation for providing every scholar with a collection of books to maintain their literacy engagement throughout the summer.
📖 Scholars also received ice cream to commemorate the commencement of summer reading.🍦🍨

🎒✨ BIG STEPS AHEAD! ✨🎒 Yesterday we held our Kindergarten Round-Up🎉🎉
The countdown is officially ON! Our amazing Pre-K crew is officially ready to take on the big leagues... KINDERGARTEN! They got to meet the teachers and spend the day learning what it will be like in kindergarten next year!
🌟🖍️From practicing their letters to building giant block towers, these little leaders have grown so much this year. Next stop: Kindergarten🚂💨

Today was such a special day at our school! We were honored to welcome members of the Jackson Mississippi Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta as they spent time with our amazing 2nd graders sharing the importance and joy of reading. Our students were excited to receive two books of their choice to enjoy during summer reading! Seeing their smiles and excitement was truly priceless. Thank you for your generosity, encouragement, and commitment to helping our scholars grow through literacy. It was truly an amazing experience, and we appreciate you all so much! Happy Reading, Scholars!!! 📖
