Businesses and residents affected by the wildfires on April 20, 2026, in Brantley County can now apply for low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). SBA will open a Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC) to assist Georgians in the declared county applying for SBA disaster loan assistance.

BREAKING NEWS: An inmate of the minimum-security satellite camp at FCI-Jesup was reported to federal law-enforcement agencies as having walked away from the unfenced camp this week.
According to a Tuesday report from WSAV, Arthur Cofield, 34, was reported as missing from camp.
He is a black male with black hair and brown eyes. He is 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs approximately 210 pounds, the report said.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Marshals Service by calling (912) 429-7169. Anonymous information may be provided the U.S. Marshals Service by calling 1-877-WANTED-2 (877-926-8332).

๐Ÿšง๐Ÿšง Road Work Notice - Tank Road ๐Ÿšง๐Ÿšง

Sikes Brothers will begin work on Tank Road starting Thursday, May 28, 2026. The project is tentatively scheduled to last for approximately two weeks, weather permitting.

Motorists should expect possible delays and are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the area. Please allow extra travel time and watch for workers and equipment.
