Public servants play critical roles in communities around the country - at the federal, state, and local levels. From one area of public service to all the others out there - THANK YOU!! You ARE appreciated.

Every day, public servants across our state show up to serve their fellow Kansans, solve problems, and keep Kansas moving forward. I've proclaimed this week as Public Service Recognition Week to recognize these unsung heroes. Thank you for your service to our state.

*******SCAM ALERT********

A lot of members of our community have received text messages with an attached picture or variations claiming to be various courts throughout Kansas posing with them listed as a defendant for not paying tolls. These messages are not real or legitimate.

The Kansas Turnpike Authority does NOT send unsolicited text messages regarding unpaid tolls.

If you receive one of these messages, the best practice is to block and delete them. DO NOT provide any personal or banking information to anyone you cannot verify who they actually are. If you have any questions, contact the Geary County Sheriff's Office.
