Monday Mantras for all you doing the important work of raising little humans 💛

Carry these with you this week:

✨ I do not need to be perfect to be great.
✨ My calm helps create calm.
✨ My child is having a hard time, not giving me a hard time.
✨ Connection first. Everything else after.
✨ Rest is productive.
✨ We can start over as many times as we need to.
✨ This season is hard *and* important.

Keep what you need,
Leave what you don’t,
And remember: you don’t have to do all the things, all at once. 💛

Parenting was never meant to be about getting everything right. ✨

Some days will feel calm and connected. Other days will feel messy, emotional, and overwhelming. The truth is, children don’t need perfection. They need love, consistency, and someone who keeps showing up for them, even on the hard days. 🫂

If you’ve been questioning whether you’re doing enough, this is your reminder that being present, loving, and willing to learn alongside your child is often exactly what they need.

You’re building connection, resilience, and emotional safety one day at a time. And that matters more than perfection ever could. ❤️

Children growing up surrounded by stories, songs, languages, lands, and people is powerful. When little ones see this reflected in community, culture, and place, they build identity, belonging, and confidence that lasts a lifetime. 🤍

As Celebration begins, we’re reminded that learning doesn’t only happen inside classrooms. It happens through dance, gathering, storytelling, watching our aunties, uncles, grandparents, and community members carry knowledge forward. These are the moments that teach children who they are and where they come from.

So if you can, bring the kiddos. Watch together. Dance together. Celebrate together. Because learning starts with belonging.🤍

After a long Southeast Alaska winter… you deserve this sunshine! ☀️💛

Not just because it feels good.. Sunlight helps regulate our circadian rhythms, supports vitamin D production, and can boost serotonin (the neurotransmitter connected to mood and wellbeing). More time outside and exposure to daylight can also help lower stress hormones (like cortisol) and may help reduce some of the effects of seasonal changes on mental health.

For caregivers and families, this matters so much! When adults feel more regulated, rested, and emotionally supported, it becomes easier to engage, connect, and play. Even a few extra minutes outside can lead to more movement, more laughter, and more opportunities for shared experiences with children.

We hope you find five minutes to celebrate this sunshine. Walk around the block. Sit outside with your coffee. Stay at the playground a little longer. We’ve waited a long time for this, and you earned it. ✨

At Southeast Childhood Collective, we know that supporting children means supporting the people and systems that help raise them, too 🤍

What does this look like?
Investing in childcare programs and the workforce that keeps them running.
Supporting working families so caregivers can provide, grow, and thrive.
Creating opportunities for professional development so early childhood professionals feel supported in the important work they do every day.

Strong families need strong communities. Through partnerships, collaboration, and family-centered support, we’re working toward a reality where children, caregivers, educators, employers, and communities are all connected and families have what they need to flourish.
