New Library Card:
Bring your current photo ID to the library and fill out a short application. Library cards are free for those living in Hardin County, and $5.00 (cash only) for anyone outside of Hardin County. Checkouts:
3 books per library card and 3 DVDs per household. 2 week checkout period for books, 1 week checkout period for DVDs. New item

You can return all your items 24/7 in the drop box on the front porch of the building. E-Books:
Our online e-books system can be accessed with the Libby app by anyone with a Kountze library card. Call us if you need your library card number. Used Book Donations:
We do accept and appreciate used book donations in clean, resale condition. We cannot accept textbooks, encyclopedias, old magazines, or any item in damaged or dirty condition. Used Book Sales:
Gently used books for sale (cash only); a year-round fundraiser for the Friends of Kountze Public Library. For more information about the Friends of Kountze Public Library, visit their page. Library Updates:

We have 12 public-access computers available for use free of charge and open to everyone. You do not need a library card or ID. You do not have to be a resident of Hardin County to use our computer center. B/W printing is 20 cents per page (cash only). Library Hours:

If your children will be participating in the Friends of Kountze Public Library Summer Reading Program, you will need a Kountze library card.

If you don’t already have one, please come by sometime this week (before the program begins on Wednesday, June 3rd), and apply for a library card.

It only takes a few minutes and all you need is a current Texas driver’s license. Children, ages 5 and up, can also get a library card, with the parent/guardian they live with.

There is no charge for anyone living in Hardin County. Those who live in neighboring counties can get a card for a one-time fee of $5.00.
