Laurens County First Steps LCFS is a non profit agency focused on getting children healthy and ready to succeed in school. Just as simple as that! Enroll in PAT and apply for the voucher.

DSS Vouchers and Parents as Teachers
This is a new partnership with SC DSS. When you enroll in Parents as Teachers (PAT) through Laurens County First Steps, you will be qualified to apply for a DSS Voucher. Call our office for more information. Training for Child Care Providers

Laurens County First Steps provides quality training and professional development for childcare providers in licensed ce

nters throughout Laurens County. The sessions are held locally and at no charge (or a nominal cost) to the centers and their employees.

4K Classrooms in Child Care Centers

We collaborate with the State Office of First Steps to support Child Care Centers who qualify to have on site private 4K First Steps class. Currently children are being served in 2 childcare centers in Laurens County. The class is free to eligible children. For more information about eligibility for our programs

Bringing together local families and community resource providers for connection, support and fun was the purpose of the Laurens County DSS Annual Community Resource Event held on May 27th at the Laurens County Agriculture and Business Center. Laurens County First Steps was happy to participate in this event and meet families from our community. LCFS gave books to children, delivered Dolly Parton Imagination Library registration information and provided other early childhood resource materials.
