It's the last day of our official National School Nutrition Week and we have LOVED giving a little extra insight into our school cafeterias by flooding our facebook this week! We'll keep the pics coming each week so you can see how we're improving school nutrition and working to keep up with the latest trends.

Having said that...this morning check out what Prairie View Elementary is doing this week! The Pre-K kids love getting to go through the big kid line to pick up their lunch.

CHECK OUT LEE'S SUMMIT WEST Cafeteria today! You can see our team members scooping out the cheese for Smart Mouth pizzas, lots of fresh fruits and vegetables being cut and their version of today's sweet chili chicken bowl. Surely something for every single taste coming through the line.

A new fruit was sampled on the offerings bar at TRE today...Orange Crush Watermelon! The name alone makes it worth trying. If you have a student at Trailridge Elementary, ASK THEM if they tried it and let us know! We'd love to hear what they thought of it.

Check out the sweet chile asian bowl being served at PLMS today! The Kansas City Food Hub locally sourced potatoes have been seasoned and roasted on this cloudy day for a perfect comfort food and of course we have fresh cut fruit to help round it out...not pictured here, but the garden bar provides lots of items to create the perfect salad.

UWE Cafe Manager, Amy Hankins, and team have gone all out for this week's National School Lunch Week Theme! I'd say from the smiles on the students' faces, they're loving it as well...and take a look at all the fresh fruit they've chosen to include on their trays, all about balance and giving lots of options.

What's the saying?? Teach someone to fish and he eats for a day. Teach a person to garden and EVERYONE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD GETS A ZUCCHINI.

Today at Mason Elementary students will have this amazing (we got to sample it) roasted zucchini with cheddar, onion powder and garlic powder. It truly is so flavorful. Wonderful job Hilda and team!

GUESS WHAT?!? It's still National School Lunch week so we are inundating our social media with pictures from our cafeterias this week...no professional photography, no "special timing", just our cafe teams taking pictures of what they do best so we can show YOU what your students are being fed.

BCMS, WINNER of the Golden Spatula this month, is keeping it simple and clean. Lots of fresh veggies, grab and go options for the students who like to get through the line quick or maybe just want something small and then plenty of hot and ready entrees waiting to be enjoyed.
